BTS video for photographer Martin Schoeller capturing 37 of the most powerful Drag Queens for NY Magazine at DragCon LA, 2019.
A collaboration with commercial photographer Martin Schoeller. Martin Schoeller was hired to photograph the 37 most famous Drag Queens at RuPaul’s Drag in LA in 2019. I was hired to do a video story about it. He gave me total freedom how to creatively solve it. Since the Drags all have a very unique style and appearance, it was important to me to capture their individual essence in the best way possible. I decided to include Super 8 in the film and mix it with the digital footage. What came out is a mixed media film with a storytelling about what inspires the Drags to be Drags. It was part of the photo series for NY magazine.
