Phila Demi (Filiz D., b. 1990) is a Filmmaker and Film Editor characterized by a deliberate aesthetic approach in her work. She helps brands define their visual language for successful video branding, across both camera operation and editing. Her work is informed by a global perspective, having lived and worked in New York City, Stockholm, Berlin, and Amsterdam.
Phila graduated with a B.A. in Communication Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen and a Postgraduate Degree in Media Arts at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne in Germany. Throughout her studies, she took an interdisciplinary and documentary approach to filmmaking.
Her editorial technical foundation was established in New York at Arcade Edit and Uppercut Edit, focusing on the structural discipline of high-end post-production. She later established a freelance career in the city, with collaborations including The New York Times, CR Fashion Book, and Document Journal.
Known for sensible cuts and a refined eye for fashion aesthetics, she specializes in building dream-like atmospheres through precise pacing and an authentic documentary-led approach to human performance.
Following her time in NYC, she was represented by S EC Studio in Berlin, editing commercials and music videos, including work for Helene Fischer (19M+ views).
She later held leading in-house roles for global brands:
Tesla (Amsterdam): Served as the first In-house Video Producer for EMEA, filming and editing across the region.
BYREDO (Stockholm): Served as the sole In-house Motion Video lead, covering Paris Fashion Week and managing internal video assets and workflows.
